SAN FRANCISCO, SPEECHTEK WEST 2005, Feb. 22, 2005 — Today, at the SpeechTEK West 2005 Conference and Exposition, the VoiceXML Forum announced its second annual series of Virtual Brown Bag Webinars.  Each educational Webinar covers a topic of interest to developers, program managers and others working with VoiceXML.  Beginning in April, Webinars will be held on the first Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The first Webinar in the 2005 series will be an encore presentation of “An Introduction to VoiceXML, Part 1” on April 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. EST.  Other topics to be addressed in this year’s Webinar series include test preparation for the VoiceXML Forum’s Developer Certification Program; the VoiceXML Forum’s Platform Certification Program; and designing, developing and testing voice applications.  Tutorials on advanced technical topics such as semantic interpretation, Call Control XML (CCXML) and XHTML+Voice (X+V) will also be offered throughout the year.

“This series makes concise and thoughtful instruction by respected experts available to a wide audience, which is a principal goal of the VoiceXML Forum and especially the Education Committee” said Jonathan Engelsma, Chair of the VoiceXML Forum Education Committee.  “The 2004 Webinar series was well attended and highly regarded, and this year, as VoiceXML’s popularity continues to increase, we’re hoping to take it to the next level.”

All of the Webinars are available at no charge to members of the VoiceXML Forum.  In addition, the general public will have access to view select Webinars also at no charge.
