SAN FRANCISCO, SPEECHTEK WEST 2005, Feb. 22, 2005 — Today, at the SpeechTEK West 2005 Conference and Exposition, the VoiceXML Forum announced that it has expanded its Board of Directors. Representatives from Intel, Loquendo, ScanSoft, Tellme and Verizon will join existing Board members AT&T, HP, IBM, Lucent, Motorola, Nuance, Oracle, Vocalocity, VoiceGenie Technologies and West Corporation in providing strategic direction and leadership to the organization. With the expanded leadership team in place, the VoiceXML Forum also announced its strategic agenda for the year.

Expanded Leadership Team Sets Agenda for 2005

The VoiceXML Forum’s expanded leadership team also announced its agenda for the year. In 2005, the Forum will seek to promote and expand its developer and platform certification programs; continue to provide technical guidance to the Forum’s membership regarding VoiceXML, X+V and related technologies; advocate new technical initiatives; maintain a diverse membership community; maintain and enhance its cooperative relationships with the W3C and industry consortia; and support educational programs such as the 2005 Webinar Series (see today’s separate announcement “VoiceXML Forum Launches 2005 Webinar Series”) and the continued publication of the VoiceXML Review, (www.voicexmlreview.org) the online magazine dedicated to VoiceXML.
