About
the Users Group Meeting:
The First Annual VoiceXML Forum Users Group Meeting
invites individuals and companies who have an
interest in VoiceXML technology to gather with
VoiceXML industry leaders to share issues, knowledge,
and information about one of the fastest growing
technologies in the telephony business. This special
event will be held the day after the closing session
of AVIOS
2001 and at the same venue. The intended audience
is application developers; platform and service
vendors; technology consultants and analysts;
enterprise IT and call center managers; and executives.
The Users Group meeting is the first person-to-person
education and networking opportunity sponsored
by the VoiceXML Forum since it issued the VoiceXML
1.0 specification in March 2000. One year later,
the industry has blossomed, and this meeting provides
a chance to reflect on what has been accomplished,
and where things are headed.
The program will begin with plenary addresses
from VoiceXML leaders, and then split into two
tracks: the Executive Briefing Track, and the
Technology Methods Track. In the Executive Briefing
Track, attendees develop an understanding of the
business aspects of the VoiceXML industry and
gain rudimentary knowledge of the technology involved.
The Technology Methods Track explores detailed
technical issues surrounding VoiceXML products,
services, and applications. It necessarily assumes
its participants are already familiar with the
basics of the VoiceXML 1.0 language and seek an
in-depth technical discussion.
The Users Group Meeting will also provide two
networking opportunities. A "Birds of a Feather"
luncheon will give attendees a chance to talk
one-on-on with industry experts about specific
areas of interest. The "Networking Reception,"
to be held at the end of the day, will be a gathering
place for informal business and technical discussions,
as well as an opportunity to view poster displays
by VoiceXML Promoters and Sponsors of their products
and services.
