Senior Voice User Interface Designer
Location: New York City (Relocation assistance available)
Position AXG-1094
Opportunity for an experienced and adventurous Voice User Interface Designer to join a leading provider of intelligent, multi-channel self-service applications that combine speech recognition and Web technologies. We are looking for a designer who really gets conversational principles and seeks extraordinary design challenges - and enjoys working in a collaborative, results-driven environment. The Senior VUI Designer will create automated agents and build/deploy high volume, customer-facing voice applications with complex process flows Ideally, the candidate will be able to travel internationally and willing to consider relocation to the New York/New Jersey area, and commute into Manhattan a couple of times per week.
REQUIRES extensive experience in application design, implementation and tuning - with a minimum of one application that has been successfully in production for a minimum of 6 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with product managers and customers to understand business processes and procedures.
- Design and implement call flows using graphical authoring tool that enables the VUI designer to design, test and deploy voice self-service applications quickly and efficiently.
- Create a high quality caller experience using natural language understanding, mixed initiative and directed dialogs.
- Work with speech scientists to write and tune grammars.
- Work with analysts and speech engineers to identify performance and quality improvements to call flows by analyzing reports and call audio recordings.
- Work with product managers and engineers to define requirements for enhancing design tools.
- Contribute to developing the company�s VUI best practices.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- At least 5 years of VUI design and implementation experience.
- Experience with analysis, design and deployment of high volume customer-facing voice self-service applications.
- Experience using rapid application design tools for VUI applications.
- Expert in Microsoft Visio or equivalent graphical design tool.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and results-focused environment.
- Team player who welcomes feedback on his/her work.
- Strong work ethic; committed to meeting and exceeding expectations.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Experience with ScanSoft speech platform and analytical tools (OSI).
- Experience writing grXML grammars.
- Experience in creating voice applications for consumers.
- Experience designing and conducting customer usability studies.
