I am building a voicexml application which when finished will make outgoing calls. I know I can use a voicemodem but when I implement that application in the real world I will need a IVR service that offers outgoing calls. I know of Voxeo but they are way out of my budget. Does anyone here know of a reliable 99.9999% up time outgoing voice service which will allow my application to talk to their servers? And if any of these IVR providers use VOIP to save money?

thanks,
Hyper

Hyper,

As an alternative to hosting, have you thought about buying a small turnkey solution that you could run yourself?

Voxeo offers excellent turnkey solutions where you can buy a small system and run it yourself.

Another vendor to look at is http://www.vocomosoft.com/, although the Voxeo browser is far superior in terms of performance and compliance.

Hope this helps.

I wanted to mention that Global Connect Voice Broadcasting has been using VoIP, SIP, VoiceXML for outbound notifications for years. Our SIP implementation has had to evolve to comply with standards and continue to interoperate with our service providers. Our in house capacity is more than 500,000 calls per hour. So if you would consider a hosted solution, give us a shot.

A while back I used a company called Message Communications to do my broadcasting. I would highly reccomend them. They are about half the price of voiceshot (above) or any other broadcaster and provide a bunch of really creative value added stuff call recording without charging for it. Pretty decent customer service too. Their site was "www.messagecommunications.com"

Cheers,
BK
