I am just getting started with vxml so I hope newbies forum is the right place ![[Smile]](../../../ubb/smile.gif)
I understand that the xml, audio, and scripts can be stored anywhere. Correct?
All they really need is a web server, so the scripting (server side) could be whatever the web server supports.
Is this correct too?
I am wondering then, to build a stand alone machine which already has a web serving platform, and voice hardware (dialogic), what software components do I still need?
Seeing an earlier post I went and looked at visibridge. The part I need is called the voice browser gateway? (or just gateway?)
Since i am looking to have this be 100% self contained, are there other companies that make simmilar products for the gateway(whatever it's called) that are installable, not hosted. (win platform)?

Hi Angelo,
Yes, markup, audio, scripts, etc. can be stored anywhere. Deploying VoiceXML apps is architecturally the same as deploying traditional web apps.
For small standalone turnkey solutions, check out the solutions Vocomo ( www.vocomo.com ) and Voxeo ( www.voxeo.com ) offer.
If you are looking for flexibility, i.e. you want commercial quality source code and will integrate your own voice gateway, license Motorola's VoxGateway ( www.motlabs.com/voicexml )
If you're just tinkering, you might want to check out the open source VoiceXML interpreter maintained by Vocalocity. However, in this case you really do get what you pay for!
