Speech Recognition Integration Specialist
LOCATION: Prefer to hire an individual to work remotely and travel occasionally to company headquarters New York City.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Integration Specialist will integrate speech recognizers from multiple vendors into Ruby or Java applications which manage the conversion of recorded audio messages into text (speech to text). Both speaker-dependent dictation engines and speaker-independent Statistical Language Modeling- and Context-Free Grammar- constrained recognition engines will be integrated with conversation management applications.
The Integration Specialist must be familiar with both proprietary APIs and Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP), and must be acquainted with both SLM construction and CFG grammar preparation.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop applications to manage speech engine resources for performing recorded speech to text conversion Build statistical language models (SLMs) to constrain speech engines Build context free grammars (CFGs) to constrain speech engines Perform audio file pre-processing (�scrubbing�) prior to speech engine analysis Perform text post-processing after return by speech engine Assist with integration of applications and associated speech engines into web application servers for deployment Qualifications/Experience Required:
The ideal candidate should have 2 to 5 years experience in speech recognition technology with a focus on integrating and utilizing capabilities of today�s leading speech engines from vendors such as Nuance or IBM Experience with both proprietary API�s and MRCP is important, as is programming experience with languages such as Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, or PHP. Familiarity with SOAP or REST web services is a positive.
Skills and Performance Dimensions/Education:
Candidates should have a bachelors or masters degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields and a proven record of successful speech engine integration and utilization.
Travel Required:
This is a virtual position. Applicants must have broadband internet access and acceptable PC capabilities. The company�s corporate headquarters is in New York City.
