SUMMARY:
The voice biometric engineer is responsible for participating in the ongoing design and development of voice biometric engines and related tuning and deployment tools. This person will work closely with the Senior Voice Biometric Engineer and will be an integral participant in projects/products lifecycles. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implement and test signal processing and modeling algorithms including feature extraction, channel compensation, statistical modeling, and pattern recognition.
2. Run regression tests for assessing accuracy and computational efficiency and analyze results.
3. Develop and maintain internal documentation for algorithms and tools.
4. Develop diagnostic and maintenance tools for speaker verification engines.
5. Port and optimize algorithms across different OS platforms.
6. Perform unit and QA testing.
7. Develop and maintain engine interface between Java and C++ (JNI)
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor�s or Master�s degree in electrical engineering or computer science required.
2. Strong mathematical and numerical methods background.
3. 2 - 5 years of software engineering experience including OOAD and architecture.
4. Experience in complete development lifecycle from inception to deployment and maintenance.
5. Experience developing systems employing signal processing and statistical modeling, in particular speech recognition and speaker verification, HMMs, GMMs, and related voice processing models.
6. Hands-on proficiency in C/C++, C #, Java, JNI, OOP design/coding methods and Unix shell scripting.
7. Experience working with prototyping tools such as Matlab.
8. Experience in DSP algorithms, including but not limited to: echo cancellation, tone detection/generation, voice compression, noise reduction, voice recognition.
